Medicine's Graduate School is here to help and support you throughout your studies. It also provides the administrative framework for your research programme from initial application to the final award of your degree.

The Graduate School's responsibilities include ensuring the satisfactory initiation of your research project and overseeing its subsequent progression. Progress monitoring is designed to identify any problems that might occur at an early stage so that we can provide support and  guidance to help overcome any difficulties that you might encounter. Our aim is to ensure that students remain on course to submit their thesis in a timely manner.

Additional support is tailored to the needs of international students, including a dedicated member of staff who acts as International  Student Advisor. Provision includes a course in scientific writing skills for students who's first language is not English and informal social opportunities to meet fellow students from around the world..

All of our students inautomatically become members of the Life Sciences Postgraduate Society which is organised by students to provide postgraduate students studying within the field of Life Sciences with extracurricular academic and social opportunities.
