We have a reputation for academic excellence in all aspects of teaching and research, with a faculty of supervisors rich in field leaders. We operate a highly focused research strategy with large interdisciplinary academic units that bridge traditional subject boundaries.

These academic units provide a critical mass of research resources and explore areas of common intellectual interests around important clinical problems.  Our postgraduate programmes are delivered in the multidisciplinary academic units. Particular strengths are respiratory disease, nutrition and development, cancer sciences, bone and joint disease, stem cells and regeneration, and translational immunology.

Our postgraduate programmes are delivered in the multidisciplinary academic units, ranging from Cancer Sciences, Human Genetics, Infection and Inflammation,  to the study of the Developmental Origins of Health and Disease and epidemiology.

Our research encompasses the full spectrum from fundamental discovery science to clinical innovation and we have a particularly strong reputation for translating new discoveries into a clinical setting.

As a postgraduate student you will join a community at the forefront of basic science and translational research within Medicine. You will work with and be supervised by cutting edge clinicians and scientists and will be able to share professional and social time with the Life Sciences Postgraduate Society and our lively postdoctoral association.
